I actually have 2 posts brewing in my head...

One of them is what I've been thinking about a lot lately, and the other chronicles the events of last night. I think for the sake of time, I'll do the latter.

So I get out of work and we all converge at my place. Bob, Michelle, Kara, Keola and myself. From there, we meet Angela at QFC for some essentials, then swing up the hill to get Adam. We all mob out to West Seattle to Melissa's house, only to find she's already made it to Alki. We follow suite, and we end up getting there after looking for parking for half an hour. We watch the fireworks, drink a little bit (not a lot baby girl, just a little bit), and have a good time just out there along the shore. It was fun seeing some people messed up, and funny how we all bought drinks so that we could pour them out and use the cup for alcohol. After all this, we decide to head out back the U-District and see what's up at Nick's. We get there with relative ease and it's pretty cool. A window pane did end up breaking but that was the fault of one of the guys who lives there so no harm done. Eventually, everyone who I'm responsible for ends up passing out in Nick's room, so around 2 am or so, I call it a night and round up everyone to roll out. A few people stayed behind because Scott was also driving and he took care of them. Took one person home and made sure she was safely in doors, then came home and knocked out. Must say it was a good time, and more entertaining than the 4ths of years past.

Wait! I almost forgot the strangest part, and best. As we were all leaving Alki, the traffic was really bad so I took all these side streets and near Admiral way, it was still packed. So basically I avoided one packed road for another. But I get onto California Dr. and these cars are trying to do a U-turn in the middle of the road. Everyone's like "Gabe, don't let them!" but they're already like half way into my lane so I let them. I get boxed in because one of them does it in front of us and the other two do it behind us. Then, the first car behind us pulls up, rolls down his window, and throws a piece of paper at us. Bob goes, "It's a fucking one dollar bill," and we all kind of laugh. But I tell Keola to lean out the door and pick it up, and sure enough, it was a $20 bill. Hell yeah, so I ask if anyone has 3 fives and Keola does so we split the money four ways. Good stuff.
